SECOND Animal Farm Review!
So, I just finished the Animal Farm movie (the cartoon one). There are a lot of similar stuff in the movie (of course... since it an adaptation... but yeah), but there were also some parts that were quite very different. One of the biggest difference there is between the movie and the book is the death of Old Major. In the movie, the pig practically dies singing (or croaking, should I say). He just suddenly fell off whatever it was that he was standing on, then died, just like that. In the book, however, there was a short time between when he gave the speech and when he died. However, in both the movie and the book, he died of the same way and of the same cause (too old). The animals in the movie also don't just talk by themselves like in the book, instead, there was a narrator. Another difference between the two is the role Mollie the Horse plays. In the movie, Mollie was not portrayed and is practically non-existent. In the book, however, she played a huge role and had all those detailed characteristics described in the book. It was quite strange to me the small role Mollie had in the movie. The ending of the movie was also very different from the ending of the book. Even though in both pieces, the animals looks through the window of the house to see the pigs starting to resemble the humans, the animals rebel against the pigs in the movies instead of just watching in awe like in the book. Also, in the end of the book, Mr. Pilkington comes to Animal Farm for a dinner feast but in the movie only the pigs came to celebrate and learn how to manage a farm like Napoleon.
